How to register a @gmail.com address in UK?

To register a @gmail.com email address in the UK

On the 9th of February 2006, users in the UK and Germany appeared to be seeing the main logo "Gmail+Chat" as opposed to the expected Google Mail logo. However, on the following day, it was changed back to Google Mail, suggesting a mistake in the process.

However no matter what your addresss is hellogoogle@gmail.com or hellogoogle@googlemail.com they both are same, which mean if your address is hellogoogle@googlemail.com but when someone send a e-mail to you with address hellogoogle@gmail.com you will still able to catch that e-mail.

Here's How you can get @gmail.com instead of @googlemail.com e-mail address.  To register a @gmail.com email address in the UK for a nice short and fancy looking, simply go to a proxy server website such as VTunnel, and enter the link of sign up gmail.com (http://mail.google.com/mail/signup)1 in the text box, leave "Encrypt URL" and "No cookies" blank and press the button "Begin Browsing", then you are done, 2you will see the Gmail Logo not the Google Mail anymore and now start your registration and fill all the text boxes like name, username , password etc.. then finally click "I accept" Create my account.

"Congratulations! - You've successfully signed up for Gmail account with @gmail.com. and now you can close this website and use the normal Gmail login page to Login to your Gmail account. No more seeing @googlemail.com.
